Doug Booth founded his company in 1969 (having reached the position of senior draftsman with a long established manufacturer of shot blast cleaning equipment) to fulfil his own ambitions of owning a company based upon solid engineering principles. Initially operating from his own home before moving into industrial premises in Horbury (1976), he expanded further into the current premises (1991) in Church Street, Ossett, West Yorkshire.

From humble beginnings has come a European leader in “reborn” shotblast plant. Recognising that users were becoming increasingly aware that new plant did not have the robust build quality of the equipment it was replacing, Doug Booth (UK) Ltd built a formidable reputation for taking the best of “retired” machines and completely rebuilding to include all contemporary requirements of a modern machine. Frequently the carcass of the machine used includes ½" plate construction which manufacturers of new machines have abandoned in favour of cost reducing 6 millimetre plate. The effects upon the robustness of the machine in an aggressive environment are obvious. The reborn shot blast machine will significantly out last the new machine.

The machines supplied meet all current standards and due to the contemporary nature of the parts used, all replacement wear parts are easily available from the company.

Compliance with current Health and Safety requirements, use of latest PLC controls and technical innovation by Doug Booth (UK) Ltd take the machines to a much higher level of safety and efficiency than the original designs.

Due to the build quality of the shotblast machines and the enviable reputation for engineering expertise in abrasive cleaning processes we are frequently asked to build new machines and there are many examples in operation today in all kinds of industries.

As part of the company’s mission to provide a fully rounded service to the industry, we are able to supply parts and carry out service on all blast machines regardless of manufacture or model. At a time when manufacturers have reduced stocks of spares or moved warehousing overseas, the company continues to provide an extensive rapid-response UK based stores for parts for many OEM machines.

The principle of using engineering expertise to provide great value for money that Doug Booth started out with, continues as the ethos of the modern business that his company has become.
